WHM Lecture Series III: Women's Activism, from the Progressive Movement to #MeToo
Part of Women's History Month
Council Chambers (Room 2018)
March 15, 2018
10 a.m.-12 p.m.
The #MeToo movement has sparked interest in women's activism, but this is not the first time that women have taken to the streets and the media to attempt to bring about change. One of the great periods of change was the Progressive Era in the United States, which culminated in the right of women to vote. How significant were women in the Progressive Movement, locally and nationally? And how did this movement influence the international movements with similar goals? Hear from Professor & Chair, Departments of History & Women's Studies, Foothill College Secretary, Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) Dolores Davison and feel empowered!
