PaRC Update 

Below is a summary of the action and information items from the most recent Planning and Resource Council (PaRC) meetings. For complete minutes and first-reads, please visit the PaRC website.

GUIDED PATHWAYS WORK PLAN
The 2018-19 Guided Pathways Work Plan must be submitted to the state by March 30. The plan is currently in the revision stage and will be presented to PaRC at the March 22 meeting. It will be posted on the website for feedback before the meeting.

EDUCATIONAL MASTER PLAN REVIEW
College Researcher Elaine Kuo gave an overview of the Educational Master Plan, the planning document that is driven by and supports our strategic objectives. The plan also reflects the college's mission and governance processes.

GOVERNANCE REDESIGN FEEDBACK
President Nguyen opened up the conversation for the group to give feedback on the recent governance redesign town hall. The proposed redesign model is on the PaRC website
Foothill Alumni Releases Documentary 

Former Foothill student Alex Shebanow recently released the documentary Fail State, about for-profit colleges and educational inequality. In this Forbes magazine article, Shebanow talks about the importance of community colleges and the impact that English instructor Scott Lankford and history instructor Konnilyn Feig had on his education and career. 
March is Women's History Month 

Lots of exciting events are scheduled for Women's History Month. We've got workshops, lectures, films and music. Check the calendar for all event details. 
Spring Registration is Underway

Spring registration has started! Please encourage students to continue their studies at Foothill this spring quarter. Classes start April 9. 
Managed Print System Project Status

In an effort to be more sustainable and cost-effective, the district is investigating options for a managed print service (MPS) contract. The project consists of two phases: assessment and deployment. Foothill is currently in the assessment phase, with Buildings 1000, 2000 and 3000 completed thus far. Our vendor, Rabbit Office Automation, expects the full assessment to be completed by the end of March. 
Syllabus Refresh Workshop 

This workshop will provide faculty with a timely exposure to how "learner centered" syllabi can increase student engagement. Collaborate with your colleagues to evaluate and revise your own syllabi. The workshop is on Friday, March 16 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the IDEA Lab, Room 1211. Register here.
Foothill Music Theatre Presents 9 to 5: The Musical

Don't miss Foothill Music Theatre's production of 9 to 5: The Musical, now playing in the Lohman! 

Based on the movie of the same name, this hilarious musical tackles friendship and women's role in the workplace. The show runs until March 18.
