Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Book by Roger O. Hirson
The award-winning composer of "Wicked" and "Godspell," with the legendary Bob Fosse, created one of Broadway's most unique and memorable works in "Pippin." This musical tells the story of the son of Charlemagne, named Pippin who, born under the giant shadow his father casts, seeks to make something "extraordinary" of his life. As Pippin explores the temptations, confusions and complications of his "modern" medieval world, he ultimately discovers some time-honored values that ring true in all times.
Laced with a rich score, this 5-time Tony-Award musical fantasy is both funny and poignant. A cast of some of our local theatre's most gifted professional and non-professional performers brings this tale to life. Directed by Foothill Music Theatre Artistic Director, Jay Manley, who is joined by Joe Duffy (choreography), Catherine Snider (musical direction), Joe Ragey (scenic design), Julie Engelbrecht (costume design) and Kurt Landisman (lighting design).
