Born and raised in East Palo Alto, Dokesha is a Foothill College alumnus who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling from San Jose State University.

She began her career in higher education in 2011 working in the Admissions and Records office at Foothill. As a part of her role in the admissions office, Dokesha served on the Academic Council, which allowed her to work closely with students on academic probation.

In 2015, Dokesha joined the Counseling team part-time and continued her work with at-risk students, helping to develop a comprehensive intervention program supporting students on academic probation. Now serving in the capacity of a full-time counselor, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to pursue her passion of supporting students on their journey towards their academic and professional dreams.
