Art 2019-2020

The Art program offers an Associate in Arts degree and a Certificate of Achievement and directs students that aspire to concentrate in foundation level studio arts and art history courses, ceramics, illustration, industrial design, drawing, painting or print arts. This guided program assists students in developing specialized artistic proficiency necessary to create strong exit portfolios that may be used to apply or transfer to art schools, art academies or art universities. These portfolio skills are also appropriate for professional use. Many of our courses are offered day, weekends, on campus or online to fit individual scheduling needs. It is our goal to give each student the opportunity to succeed based on their dedication, practice, creativity, ability, capacity and personal artistic interest.

Program Learning Outcomes:

-Students will be able to create two- and three-dimensional artwork and designs using appropriate tools, materials, methods and techniques.
-Students will be able to analyze and critically evaluate two- and three-dimensional creative projects using the current principles and language of art and design.
