Research Requests
In ongoing support of a culture of inquiry and continuous improvement, Institutional Research & Planning reviews internal and external requests for coordination and prioritization. Some requests may also be reviewed by the senior leadership team to ensure interest and alignment with college goals.
Criteria for External Research Requests
- Submit all requests as early as possible.
- Due to limited staffing and time, it may not always be possible to process your request.
- You may be contacted after making your request for additional information.
Additional prioritization for specific projects may be determined as follows:
- Projects related to the Accreditation self-study and site visit.
- Projects assigned by the President or Chancellor.
- Projects tied to the mission, strategic initiatives and other college planning activities.
- Projects to assess and improve educational success and curriculum.
- Projects related to state and federal requirements.
- Projects tied to external funding.
Research projects for class assignments typically do not require review or approval
via an institutional review board (IRB) process because:
- Sensitive data are not being collected.
- Data are not being collected from protected populations.
- Results will not be used outside of the classroom context.
- Collected data will be destroyed at the end of the project with no further use.
