Interventional Pulmonology Assistant

Certificate of Achievement Courses

The Interventional Pulmonology Assistant certificate program is four (4) courses long and will take approximately six months to complete. Two classes are offered each quarter in sequence. See the schedule of classes for current course offerings.

Course Descriptions

RSPT 85 Interventional Pulmonology Theory and Application

This course provides the general principles of Interventional Pulmonology. Disease-specific applications, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, techniques, and procedures, are introduced. This course is intended for students enrolled in the Interventional Pulmonology Certificate Program. 5 Units 

RSPT 86 Interventional Pulmonology Procedures

Basic and advanced interventional pulmonology procedures. Procedures to be covered will include bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, endoscopy, airway access procedures, and novel techniques. This course is intended for students enrolled in the Interventional Pulmonology Certificate Program. 5 Units

RSPT 87 Interventional Pulmonology Clinical Practicum

Clinical application of basic interventional pulmonology procedures. Interpretation of basic diagnostic data and correlation to applied therapies. Procedures include bronchoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, such as alveolar lavage. This course is intended for students enrolled in the Interventional Pulmonology Certificate Program.  1 Unit

RSPT 88 Interventional Pulmonology Research Project

Research project on a specialized area of interventional pulmonology. Specific topics to be determined by the instructor. This course is intended for students enrolled in the Interventional Pulmonology Certificate Program. 1 Unit
