ASFC Boards of Government

Activities Board

To develop and recommend to the ASFC Campus Council such legislation, policies, codes, regulations, ASFC activities, and declarations as may be necessary to effectively implement, develop and coordinate ASFC activities and programs in the areas of Activities, Marketing, Media and Communications.

Activities board is responsible for hosting and planning events such as New Student Orientation, Heritage Series, Campus events/socials, holiday events, and Graduation/Commencement either both in-person and virtually. 

Vice President of Activities

The Vice President of Activities shall:

  1. Serve as the chief executive officer of the ASFC Activities Board of Directors.
  2. Serve as a voting member of the ASFC Campus Council
  3. Be a member of the President's Cabinet
  4. Be an Ex-officio voting member of all Commissions, Committees, and agencies, which are represented on the ASFC Activities Board of Directors.
  5. Assume such other duties as may devolve to their office, or may be assigned to their office by the ASFC Campus Council or the President's Cabinet

Board Organizer/Secretary

  • Helps with webpage updates, creates list for ASFC student employee to implement
  • Acts as the Activities Board secretary

Event Coordinator (2 positions)

    • Helps plan events outside of Heritage Month Series
    • Coordinates events such as holiday events, mental awareness during finals events, on-campus socials
    • Assistance with events on and/or off campus

Heritage Month Coordinators (2 positions)

  • Works with staff and faculty to plan monthly heritage events, plans a month and a half in advance to execute events, chairs and/or overwatch's heritage month meetings
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of Heritage Month Committees
  • Must be present during all College Hour events, doing and overseeing the decoration, set-up, and clean up
  • Assistance with events on and/or off campus

  • Attend Budget Commission meetings
  • Meet with the ASFC Accountant every week
  • Give budget updates at Activities Board meetings

Activities Marketing Director

  • Work closely with the Administration Board and the Design Center to create promotional material for upcoming events
  • Proficiency in media editing software (like Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and social media apps)
  • Distribute and post marketing materials (like flyers and posters), on and around campus

COUNCIL MEETING INFORMATION

The ASFC Campus Council meets weekly on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in Toyon Room (2020).
