A Planet-Friendly Pop-Up: A Community Swap for Collective Care

 

More than a Swap — It's an Act of Care! 

Date: Tuesday, June 10 | 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Location: Campus Center Plaza, Lowe Campus, near the BIPOC Center & Owls Nest

Donation Drop-Off: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Extended through June 9 @BIPOC Center

Bring clean and gently used items such as:

Accepted Items – Examples Include: 

Clothing and Accessories:
  • New or like-new tops, pants, jeans, jackets, sweaters, dresses, professional wear, workout clothes 
  • Accessories like scarves, hats, bags, belts, jewelry 
  • Gently worn or new shoes (e.g., dress shoes, boots, sandals, flats)
  • Please do not donate used athletic or running shoes
Home Items:
  • Freshly washed new or unused bedding (sheets, pillowcases, blankets, throws)
  • Décor (string lights, framed art, mirrors, baskets, lamps, desk lights)
  • Storage bins, laundry bags, command hooks, reusable totes
Kitchen Basics:
  • Small kitchen appliances (e.g., toasters, blenders, mini rice cookers) in working condition
Office Supplies & Books/Media:
  • Notebooks, binders, folders, planners, highlighters, pens/pencils, organizers
  • Fiction, nonfiction, self-help, cookbooks, graphic novels
Wellness & Personal Care:
  • Sealed and unused personal care items: soaps, shampoos, body wash, lotion, face masks
  • New period products (pads, tampons, or sealed reusable options)
Small Electronics (in working condition):
  • Desk fans, headphones, speakers, phone chargers, alarm clocks, calculators, mini humidifier
Not Accepted:
  • Used athletic/running shoes
  • Large or bulky items (large furniture, large appliances)
  • Used or opened hygiene or beauty products
  • Damaged, stained, or unwashed clothing or bedding
  • Worn undergarments or socks
  • Food or perishable items
  • Items with strong odors, excessive wear, or pet hair
  • Broken or non-functional electronics
