Biography:

David Marasco was born in Switzerland but moved to America at the age of three. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He did his undergraduate work at UC San Diego, where he earned a B.A. in philosophy and a B.S. in physics. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics at Northwestern University. His dissertation involved the application of a novel x-ray technique to measure thin-films on an atomic scale. This research was carried out at Brookhaven and Argonne National Laboratories. In addition to papers concerning x-rays and surface science, Dr. Marasco has several published articles about baseball. He has seen the game played at the professional level in five different countries and has had his photos purchased for use as baseball cards.
