Biography:

Dr. Carroll, History of Art, PhD., is a specialist in the art of Renaissance Venice. She lived and taught art history in Venice for 13 years. Dr. Carroll has taught art history in Italy, and in the US at Stanford University, San Jose State University and Foothill College. While her specialization is in Renaissance, her teaching interests in Design History emerged from her research on the early modern Italian Interior. She has written articles for The Burlington Magazine and Arte Documento, as well as essays on the topics of Mary Magdalene and the Venetian domestic interior. She is co-editor of, A Cultural History of Furniture (General Editor, Christina Anderson) Volume 3: A Cultural History of Furniture in the Age of Exploration (1500-1700), Bloomsbury Publishing.
