Course information:

This online class is one of the few undergraduate Social Work and Social Welfare classes offered online. It is a 5 unit accredited GE class that has been taken by students from all over the country and from several foreign countries.

Biography:

I retired 16 years ago as the Director of Family and Children's Services from Santa Clara County. I have over 39 years of social work experience and have managed, not only child welfare programs, but adult protective services and income maintenance programs as well.

I have taught various graduate level courses in the Schools of Social Work at San Diego State and San Jose State Universities. I have also taught Social work courses in the Adult Education Department of Western Carolina University. This is my sixteenth year on the faculty at Foothill College.

I have served on various National boards and committees that have addressed national and local social work issues and have been a board member of over 15 different community and local organizations the National and Local Urban League, The National Council on Social Work Education and the U.S. Senate Select Review Committee on Temporary Assistance To Needy Families (TANF) .
