What is EOPS?

EOPS stands for Extended Opportunity Program & Services. It was legislated more than 50 years ago to attract and to assure that eligible students, who are economically and educationally vulnerable, are provided the additional support needed to attain a college education. EOPS continues to provide support services that help to relieve financial expenses, while also providing a system of caring and belonging with accountability from start to finish.

Mission Statement

Driven by a legacy of equity and social justice, we provide a personalized connection for our students so they have the navigational capital to achieve academic success. We enhance the student experience by offering solution-based practices. We provide over and above services aimed to encourage, support, and empower students from entry to completion.

Navigating: We inform and guide students through various campus resources to promote awareness and to build self-advocacy skills that will navigate Foothill College and transition into the 4-year college system and/or their future career.

We will

Answer questions about how you'll continue to receive EOPS services within this new virtual environment from now through spring.

Connect you to an EOPS staff person who can schedule your counseling appointments and who will work with you individually so that all of your responsibilities are met.

Help you navigate Foothill's Virtual Campus Resources to direct you towards additional services and opportunities that may help meet your needs during this transition.

Current EOPS Participants

All EOPS PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED to schedule TWO counseling appointments per quarter.  Additional appointments are encouraged. So don't forget to schedule your 2nd counseling appointment in a timely manner before the end of the quarter. Only one counseling appointment is required during the summer session.

Before scheduling a counseling appointment, have your Foothill College Student Campuswide ID (CWID) number ready. 

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation of your appointment. If you cancel your appointment, it is your responsibility to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.

If you schedule an appointment here and are not a current EOPS/CARE participant, YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE CANCELLED.
