American Chemical Society

Faculty Advisor: Kyle Taylor -

Meetings: In Person: Fridays, 1-2pm, Room TBD
Online: Fridays, 5-6pm

We want to provide a place to discuss the biology-related topic for such students, who will be motivated and impressed by each other sharing their interests in the biological field.

Current Projects: Testing the InteraChem VR setup (ie playing with molecules in virtual reality), and preparing a research project for the annual Research & Service Leadership Symposium


The Astronomy Club

Faculty Advisor: Geoff Mathews -

Meetings: Wednesays 3-4 PM in room 4221, Zoom

Space. The final frontier. This is the purpose of The Astronomy Club. To inspire interest and promote education in the field of astronomy and other space sciences through the exploration of scientific news and resources as well as the analysis of science fiction media.

Current Projects: Star parties, building a rocket and telescope


Audio Visualization and Interpretation Project

We aim to work on projects focused around audio and music which span into several stem disciplines, finding links between them.

Biology Club

We aim to support community college students with diversified interests by providing them with valuable information and hands-on opportunities in the fields of Biology and Biology related fields. Together, we will help our members get started and cultivate new skills.

Business & Entreprenuership Club

Computer Science Club

Faculty Advisor: Frank Cascarano -

Meetings: Tuesdays 1:00 PM in room 4221

The purpose of this club is to create a community which promotes both fun and practical applications of computer science where students can engage in useful conversations about concepts, ideas, and projects as a means to improve their understanding of computer science through collaboration. We also plan to host workshops, game nights, and a hackathon. 

Current Projects: Planning a Hackathon. Projects: Website, possibly 3d model genrator, website for assignments like a planner, daily news summarizer.



Cybersecurity Club

A club designed to provide a pathway into careers in cybersecurity, networking and information security.

Data Science & AI Club

Faculty Advisor: Erid Reed -

We aim to support community college students with diversified interests by providing them with valuable information and hands-on opportunities in the fields of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence. Together, we will help our members get started and cultivate new skills in these interdisciplinary fields.

​The​ ​purpose​ ​of​ ​this​ ​organization​ ​shall​ ​be​ ​to​ connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities

Current Projects: Helping locals in Puerto Rico getting access to clean drinking water after the hurricanes. We will help by: fundraise money, buy water filter from the company we are collaborating with (Solvatten), ship the water filters to Puerto Rico and deliver to communities in need.



Science & Engineering Club

We are a friendly community of students looking to explore the world of engineering through activities and projects by providing students with fun experience outside the classroom. As an added benefit, we hope to give our members guidance from experienced advisors including veteran engineers from the industry!

Geospatial Technology Club

We aim to create an inclusive space for students to engage with geography and geospatial technology through volunteer projects and opportunities for professional development. We hope to foster a sense of community within the Foothill GIST program and provide support for each other in our individual academic and career goals.

Rocketry Club

Meetings: Fridays at 1pm in the STEM Center, Zoom

The Rocketry Club at Foothill College is a community for students passionate about aerospace, engineering, and STEM in general. Open to individuals with any level of experience, and from any discipline, the club offers a welcoming and inclusive space for exploration and collaboration. Through hands-on projects and competitions, members gain practical knowledge in designing, building, and launching model rockets. 

Current Projects: Battle of the Rockets VA Competition and Rocketry certifications 


Virtual Reality Club

Faculty Advisor: Michelle Nguyen -

Meetings: Thursdays 2-3pm in room 4220

Virtual Reality club is to provide a space for students to explore career paths, connect with the industry, discover apps and games in VR and AR, and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in virtual and augmented reality technology.

Current Projects: Talk about the ethics of VR and the metaverse.   Set up an art gallery to showcase art & design
