A group of women with different ethnic backgrounds will discuss their experience being a woman with the context of their culture. From their mother's role, to their personal experiences, to the changes they would like to see in the future - these women will bring a wealth of insight into what it's like being a woman in different cultures. The 'Woman Question' in Russia

Dr. Katherine R. Jolluck is Senior Lecturer in Modern East European History at Stanford University. With over 30 years of experience in the history of twentieth-century Eastern Europe and Russia, Dr. Jolluck's expertise includes topics of women and war, women in communist societies, second world war, and human trafficking. Her books include: Exile and Identity: Polish Women in the Soviet Union during WWII, and Gulag Voices: Oral Histories of Soviet Incarceration and Exile (with Jehanne M Gheith).
