arima Fakoor, ABD. is an accounting educator, accounting manager and consultant with thirty years of experience in designing, developing and delivering educational programs and courses, conducting research, and managing and consulting in the fields of managerial and financial accounting. Her interest in the world of â€œBusiness and Educationâ€ has stemmed from different careers that she has pursued in her professional life. Farima Fakoor has worked in a variety of settings: conduct workshops and help organizations understand the fundamentals of finance and accounting for non-financial managers help set up a computerized accounting system in a start up setting, write accounting policies for high tech companies in Silicon Valley.
In 2000, Farima Fakoor left private accounting and joined Golden Gate University to serve in two different roles; faculty and the Director of Corporate and College Relations. In 2008, she joined the full time faculty as an Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting and teaches courses such as Issues in Modern Management Accounting and Financial Accounting in the Master of Accounting program. Farima Fakoor started teaching at Foothill College in 2001 as an adjunct professor.
Farima Fakoor has diverse experience in the field of education including college professor, accounting manager of a corporate, academic consultant for high-tech Silicon Valley Company. She has also served as an advisory board member at a private school, community college and Plus program (English program for international students) at various institutions.
In addition to Golden Gate University, Farima Fakoor has been a professor at DeVry University, University of Phoenix, Foothill / De Anza Community College and Mission College / West Valley College. Farima Fakoor has served as Accounting Manager / Director for few Silicon Valley corporations. For most of her career in private accounting, she was a manager overseeing Finance and Accounting operations in large to mid-size companies.
She joined her last corporate employer, in November of 1997 and headed the accounting department. She was part of the group who took the company public in 2000.
Farima Fakoor received a B.S. in Accounting from San Francisco State University. She earned an M.B.A in finance and is a candidate for Doctoral Degree in Business Administration at Golden Gate University with a research interest in Corporate Sustainability and B certified corporations.
