Purpose

The purpose of Active Minds at Foothill College is to help Foothill College students achieve their personal health and wellness goals, raise mental health awareness on campus, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, and provide a safe space for students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking. The club will maintain a holistic approach promoting social, financial, mental, physical, and nutritional well-being through social events, guest speakers, physical activities, meditation practices, group discussions, and many more goal-oriented activities accustomed to student interests. Members will gain active involvement on campus which they can then take with them to a 4-year college that may already have an existing Active Minds Chapter. The club is closely associated with the Active Minds non-profit organization that supports mental health awareness and education for students in over 600 colleges and high schools.

Purpose

Purpose

The dental hygiene program is a Bachelor of Science program with 24 students in each class. Admission is very competitive with many pre-requisites. It is a full-time program with little time for outside work. The clinic provides dental hygiene care, including cleaning and x-rays, free for our students who pay the student body fee, and low-cost for communities in need of dental hygiene care who are unable to afford it because of their limited incomes.

Purpose

The purpose of the Foothill Desi Student Union is to raise awareness of the dynamic cultural heritage of India and its surrounding countries, provide a platform for international students and Indian-American students to get support, and unite the Indian/South Asian community on campus to promote a vibrant campus experience for all students. Purpose

The purpose of Salt and Light Ministries is to create a welcoming space for fellowship among believers and to serve as a resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the Christian faith, the person of Jesus Christ, or simply find genuine friendship on campus. The club aims to be a positive and uplifting presence within the Foothill community, acting as “salt and light” (Matthew 5:13–16) by encouraging spiritual growth, meaningful outreach, and a pursuit of excellence that brings glory to God.

Purpose

The purpose of this club shall be to introduce Foothill students to the benefits of public speaking and competitive debate, including but not limited to the British Parliamentary style. Through practice and collaboration, members will gain experience in critical thinking, research, communication, and build confidence in their speaking abilities including but not limited to persuasive, informational, and impromptu speeches. We aim to empower members to engage in a healthy and fulfilling civic life by teaching the importance of respectful, inclusive, and thoughtful discourse.
