INTERNSHIP
1 Unit
- Description: The internship is a structured worked experience with an organization or company external to the classroom. This activity primarily involves the student and faculty working with a third party. The primary management of the student's activities and the majority of the evaluation score is done by the third party offsite supervisor. The internship will address professional workplace skills in addition to targeted technical skills as appropriate. Faculty works with the offsite supervisor to create an internship that is targeted at the student's skill level. The student will meet with their faculty supervisor 2-3 times per quarter to discuss 21st century skills, issues of discipline, professionalism, application of technical skills and professional code of ethics. The student is required to contract with faculty to determine the type and scope of the assignment.
